Extract subtitles from RatDVD

Hello all. Is there a way to extract a selectable subtitle subpicture from a movie without first converting to DVD and then spending approx 5 hours telling SubRip what every letter looks like? The movie in question has no subtitles on any internet sites I’ve looked at.

Can you convert just the subs to dvd without having to convert the video too?

I tried but Rat doesn’t create output when only the subtitle stream is selected. I ultimately converted to DVD and then used SubRip. I’m happy to report that SubRip’s OCR actually worked as expected this time. I originally tried using it on Casshern and those subs were a BAD set to start with.

It still sucks hehehe…

Im looking to convert 5 .ratDVD just to extract the subs (less than 1mb)… is there any way to do a low quality convert (faster) ?

Not until we all gripe enough on the RATDVD forums for such a feature. Get to it!

  1. Open .ratdvd file with Winrar

  2. Extract the files inside the .ratdvd to an folder

  3. You will see something like that

  4. Rename file extensions
    XVO ----> VOB
    VSI—> BUP

  5. Extract the subtitles with Subrip
