I have the Iomega 48x24x48 external CD-RW drive connecteted to my HP Notebook.
Since i only had 1.1 USB ports on my notebook, and the price for the cd-rw whas pretty good, i decided to by a PC card with 3 USB 2.0 in order to guaranty the 48x24x48 recordig speed that otherwise would be reduced to 4x2x4
Everything seemed simple.
I installed the PC cards as the instructions instructed and it was working fine. I can read and write to whattever media is connected to it.
And then i tried to burn a cd. What happens puzzles me... The recording starts, after preparing the session, but it freezes up as it tries to write to the cd. It seems the information on the disk doesn't get transfered at all....
I've tried at 48x and down to 12x and i can't burn a single cd. If i connect the drive to the 1.1 USB ports it records perfectely at 4x....
I should add some details:
a) I use the lattest version of Nero and Easy Cd Creator 5.3.4
b) The PC card installation details instruct to install the drivers provided althoug they are not signed by\for win XP.
c) The PC card is a conceptronic csp 480 c3
Thanx in advance!
