External CD/DVD Optical Drives

I’m not sure if this has already been asked (my apologies if it has), but is it possible to take apart a retail external CD/DVD optical drive and attach the drive in a PC as an internal CD/DVD optical drive?

I mean, are external drives (bought from a retailer) capable of being used as internal drives? If so, how?

That should be no problem, just disassemble the enclosure and connect the drive into a normal computer (make sure it’s correctly jumpered!).

So if I was to take apart one of the drives below, how would I go about it? It’s just that I cant seem to see any screws on any of those enclosures.

Is there a guide somewhere that can tell you how to open an external enclosure? I can set the jumper as I’ve done it before so it isn’t a problem for me. But opening up the enclosure could be quite tricky.
