Hi and Welcome!

according to your logs, your drives are running in PIO mode. This is bad and must be fixed: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f61/troubleshooting-enabling-checking-dma-windows-vista-xp-2000-me-9x-101616/
Also replace the IDE cable by an 80wired 18in (46cm) flat ribbon cable)

Secondly, you tried to burn at 18x, which can’t be handled by your system, especially not if your drives are in PIO mode. Also, your media seems to be not good enough for your burner. Try them at lower speeds, I’d suggest 8x.

And last, but not least, there is some very important remark in the FAQ: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f91/lg-dvd-writer-faq-updated-1-jan-2007-a-168082/index2.html#post1648708

If the error still occurs, then have the drive serviced under warranty.

Michael

Yup, 8x is okay. 18x is not.

Also, fix this:

=== CDRom-Device-Map ===
HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8163B G: CDRom1

Excluded drive IDs:

Laptop burners… you will be lucky to get 6x by the end of the dvd. Have you unistalled the drive in the device manager and rebooted computer? Worth a try…
Serious Help Needed…New Lenovo Laptop’s DvD writer Isnt Workn
That has a Matshita (Panasonic) drive. No LG, which is the topic of this forum section.

I would have stopped using these discs after the 5th coaster.

Its a brand New Laptop from lenovo.
Contact Lenovo support. Recent hardware should support known media like Sony.
