Hey all, still sorta new at this. Just upgraded from a Liteon 812S to a Plextor 712A and using DVD-Shrink 3.2 I got the following error (using Ritek 8x DVD -R):

When I got this error it was bad media that caused it and about a month ago someone else posted this error. I recomended the same to him and changing media fixed the problem. It could be that your drive just doesn’t like the media. Try a firmware update. It looks like your ver of nero is fairly recent but perhaps updating to 6.6 might help. Defanatlly try other media though as I suspect that it will fix your problems.
fyi did the ritek work in your liteon? If it did, just use up that media in it. If you don’t have both drives installed, I would sugest it. Not only will it expand your options if one drive doesn’t like a particular media and you cannot return it, but keeping the liteon will allow you to do kprobe scans (do a search on kprobe).

yeah,
Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR is almost always caused by incompatible or faulty media. suggest changing brands, or +R for -R [ or vice versa ], and/or a firmware update if available.

The media worked fine with Alcohol…
