Are you by any chance trying to create a >4GB file on a FAT32 file system?

Sorry, but it’s the only thing I can think of.

What is the name of the file you are trying to create and the volume name you’re using?

I have tried this succesfully to eliminate the problem. I am not an expert but I believe this error is caused by unusal file names. So I went back to the compilation folder and delete all the files with unusal names, e.g. temp files like ~.tmp, mac files like .DS_Store, any files without proper extensions, files with four letter extensions.

Hope this helps.

Hey you Nero experts out there, it is about time you give us some decent help to solve the problems. I was typing this, my computer crashed while Nero was burning a dvd data file. Gee it pissed me off big time. Does anyone know of a better disc burning system out there?

Your computer was doing many more things than burning a DVD when it crashed; any of which could have caused the crash. Nero does not crash any of the three PCs that it is installed on here no matter what it is doing.
