Error while backing up dvd's?

just tried backing up a dvd, and came up with a problem.

i got an error msg after 80% or there abouts of burning.
this is the error i got…

can anyone help me out with this problem?
i’ve been having issues with backing up dvd’s lately. they burn and play but either stop playing while watching them or start skipping ect.

im using dvd shrink and nero.
and ive backed up heaps of dvd’s, this problem has only started in the last couple of months.

and i was using TDK DVD-RW 4X single sided media.

any help is appreciated.

I notice that you’re burning at 1x. I wouldn’t have thought this a good idea.

What happens if you burn at 4x which is the rated speed of the media?

yeah i re-tried using 8x medium at maximum speed, and it appears to have copied finally :bigsmile:

No. Usually is better to burn at certified speed or near (i.e. for a 8x media is better burn @8x or @6x); sometimes higher than certified speed, but only with very god media and with a burner/firmware that allow overspeed.

Some burners/firmwares have issues @ higher speed (for example MCC004 media on benq 1640; they burn better @ 12x instead of 16x)

WHY are you useing RWs to burn Movies…DVD-R or DVD+R is used normaly.
