Error Submitting Checksum When flashing ON PIO

[qanda]This thread is about the Sony NEC Optiarc 20x DVD Multi Writer Black. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Evening,

I’m trying to flash a AW-G170A with the firmware ‘175bt_rpc1’, but I always get a ‘Error Submitting Checksum’.

I’ve read around and seen that if you have dma on it doesnt work. So I went into device manager and selected IDE Channel (I only have one).

It says…

Target Id: 0, Device Type: ATAPI CDrom, Current mode: PIO Mode 4.

DMA mode check box is greyed out and unticked.

All my drivers are windows defaults with the chipset and cd drive.

Im using Binflash GUI 1.47.

Thanks!

The checksum for this firmware was indeed wrong. I just fixed this and re-uploaded the firmware. Please try downloading and flashing again.

Worked a charm.

Thanks mate!

Hi Liggy,

I’m experiencing exactly the same problem with Optiarc AD-5630A 1CHQ Firmware; could you please check whether the checksum is right?

Sincerely,

Alf

I checked the checksums on orig, fast and RPC1 and according to my tool they’re all correct.
