Error Reading Audio For Voice Files

I recorded an entire book into my SanDisk digital music player then transfered it to my computer with the intention of buring them to Disc using my version of Nero V. 5 and my 24X burnder with buffer under-run, etc.

Problem:

I burned the first CD fine – it consisted of the first 7 tracks.
Then the second CD – the next 5 tracks, stopped at 47% and I got a “could not read audio” error message.

When I went back to look at the file it had a problem with for a minute it said 0:00 for total track time, but then after a minute when I tried it again it played as it had originally and displayed the time lenght of the track again 12:46, etc…

This is driving me nuts. I’ve tried it a few times. Even converting all the WAVS to Mp3s or filtering them through the GoldWave music editor going from Wav to Wav file.

Here is the exact error message I got. Any suggestions?

Existing drivers:

I don’t know much about Nero 5, or the SanDisk, but both of your DMAs are off for your drives. That really slows down access to the drives. Try getting them back on. Normally on the advanced tab for your IDE controllers in Device Manager.

I don’t know about your firmware on the drives, but it is always a good idea to keep it up to date.

The log says something about an error reading the file. Try to get the DMAs on to see if it helps in that area. If not, could you have a corrupted file? Any Digital rights Management issues? Are you recording this book yourself, and was there plenty of room on the device when you recorded so nothing was left out or compressed more near the end? Was the battery charged when you recorded?
