Error Messages Copytodvd

Hi there, hope you can help. After spending hours on this problem, I am at a loss.

I have used CopytoDVD for ages now, always with great results.

However in the last week I have only been able to get 1 in 10 to work.

I have not changed any settings. I am using the same media as before. Ran “identity” tests on the disks to make sure of this.

I tried using a different media. Same problem.

I tried burning off a different hard drive, same problem.

The burn appears to work, but when finalising I get error 05 21 00

I read a post that suggested to enable “DVD-R Sao First” When I did this
the burn got to 12% and I got error 06 28 00

When I used Nero to try and burn the DVD (vob) files - no problem. Works well.

I have 2 USB Hard Drives
1 USB Burner
2 Laptops

Here’s where it gets weird, when I use another computer, I get the same error. But I dont think its the USB drive I am getting the files from, because when I try and burn off the hard drives on both computers I still get the error.

This occurs when trying to burn using a USB hard drive. Because it works with Nero - the USB drive is burning okay…

The USB burner I am using is TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U US06 [D] (Usb)
Firmware : TS-H552UFirmware

So why now am I having these hassles ? Can anyone assist ?

I have included logs below.

Thanks
Andrew

Hi there,

I have a few suggestions:

11/26/2005 3:01:22 PM info Init success: DVD-R SAO

In the CopyToDVD Settings / Burning Engine, unselect DVD-R SAO First.

SAO means Sessions At Once.
I’ve seen other users have issues with their burner burn SAO method.
Removed this, and it burned fine.

11/26/2005 3:01:22 PM info Writing speed requested x4.0, effective x4.0
11/26/2005 3:01:21 PM info Available write speed: x12.0, x10.0, x8.0, x6.0, x4.0, x2.0
11/26/2005 3:01:21 PM info Media ID: TTH02

Those seems like 16x media, but after testing, your burner set the effective speed to x4.0

Either it’s cheap media and or your PC can’t feed the burner the burn fast.

Anyway, when having burning issues, always burn at the lowest speed which is x2.0

You are using Patin Couffin v1.35 which is the latest, and you do have the latest firmware on your burner.

I use the very best media (Taiyo Yuden) and still burn everything at x2.0 and I get 100% good results.

Even if I burn at x4.0 my PC is so busy, I always average burn speed at x3.something so I burn at x2.0 bu choice.

You can always use DVD-RW / DVD+RW for testing purposes.
This way they can be erased and you are not wasting tons of media !

Good Luck !

Thanks for your reply.

I am sure the media is good. I have burned using same media on Speed x4 for ages…with success…I also tried 2 types of media. One of which was
Taiyo Yuden.

these are only two of the logs, I tried x4 many times whilst trying to solve dilema…same errors.

I originally had SAO turrned off…same error (05 21 00) then I turned it on …error
06 28 00

Loved your idea or rewritable for testing though…will use that in the future !

Hello again,

I suggest you download the VSO Support Tool --> http://download.vso-software.fr/vsorep.exe

Fill it up, and get support directly from VSO.

Hello,

Have you tried with the latest version of CopyToDVD 3.1.2 ? http://www.vso-software.fr/download.php
