Error 123

Hi everyone,

Been using dvdfab platinum for about a year…love it, used to use ripit4me, dvdshrink, and imageburn till ripit4me disappeared.

Anyway, recently bought a used Dell latitude p4, 2.0ghz, 512 ram, about 35 GB free space on HD. I run XP pro service pack 3 and the bios and drivers appear to be current. The Dell has an Optiarc DVD ±RW AD5560-A. I updated the firmware to DD12, which is the latest version Dell offers. I’m running the latest version dvdfab 5.2.1.2 and use both VSO and Imageburn latest version 2.4.2.0.

I know I should use Verbatim all the time but have been using memorex, sony, etc, which could be the problem…I have very inconsistent burn results with this burner, usually will show an error 123 or a general I/O error near the end (97% to 99%) the burn. Have tried full dvd, main, and iso to hard drive mode without really any consistency. Depending on media I usually burn at 8x speed. It will turn out 2 or 3 coasters every 5 trys. I tried to tweak the burner with Ziggy’s tools but it appears this drive is not a sony/nec chipset??

A search of threads didn’t offer much error 123 info, burner or media problem?

Any thoughts, other than using better media, would be appreciated.

Submit this log to VSO for them to analyze. You can use the link in my sig, it will ask you to run a small exe file that will gather all the logs and system info. There is a newer version of DVDFab but you already have the most up to date version of the VSO dll.
