Epson r800 ink

Hmmm…I just looked up my old Epson ink at Databazaar and it’s not there either.
My guess is that the infamous “Epson Lawsuit” has affected the Premium line of refilled carts.
This successful lawsuit denies the manufacture of carts that will fit Epson printers. Copyright infringement.
Supposedly Epson refills are all to be refilled genuine Epson carts.

I just checked another trusted ink supplier, Atlantic Inkjet, and they too, have nothing for R800 ! There may be more to this as, A. I. uses ProStar which does genuine cart remans
Hey I received my Ink this past Friday. I used it this morning on 2 inkjet printable dvd’s. I switched all cartridges to this new ink. Did 5 head cleaning, I still have a bit of a clog. But since it takes so much ink to clean the damm thing i stopped. I Then printed 2 dvd’s, well I was happy. I use Surething Software (Love it) and I had seetings for photo. It looked good. I can’t say great since i still have to get a clean nozzle check and so far i don’t. Will I buy more? I will. When i get home i will utilize the whole ink to clean printer and then re-order. But for the price I can’t complain. I still need to test on photo paper and look closely at quality. Hope this helps.
I just did 15 dvd-r inkjet printables. Don’t like this ink. Left images too dark. DId several different settings, not as i would like to see them. My other Epson R800 has original, and at settings of photo, it did a good job as the other one again was printing too dark. Well I guess i have to wait for the new inks from Image Specialists) from Mikling. I will update you guys when i receive them and use them.

Sometimes a custom profile is needed with some ink/printer/monitor combos.
I have not had to do this for my purposes and with my equipment, but many have gone this route.

I’m not too good at that, would you happen to know how to do that?

The search button at Nifty-Stuff knows volumes more than I do on this subject :o

Mikling may be able to offer some advice for his inks as well.

I just found an 8 pack of “Genuine” Epson ink on ebay…here’s the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300294007143&_trksid=p2759.l1259#ebayphotohosting
I have read on other sites to watch out for sellers who sell Genuine Epson Ink in just bags, but this seller selles them in the vacuum sealed bags they came in. just not in the boxes. He’s selling them for $79.95 with free shipping. Would like some opinions. Thanks

Update… I have been reading the feedback for the seller, which is mostly positive, but when someone posts negative or neutral feedback…the seller responds with a rude reply. I also read from one buyer that when he tried to contact the seller, he got a snotty reply. Hmmm…I’m changing my mind now.

Thanks for the info. Wife said i received my ink today. So I will test them. Last night i waisted all the ink on clog head. Hopefully after a couple of cleaning cycles I can print and test these inks. Will follow up with an update.

Hope ya get better results.

I’ve used different ink for quite some time. The best investment I made was in a CIS for my R380. Perfect prints and very, very cost effective. You might want to check into a continuous ink system for your printer. It will be worth the money, Jerry

i wanted to invest in a CIS system, but i was afraid with the installation part of it. I was trying to find someone that could send me a machine already installed with an CIS system, but could not finf one. By the way which CIS system you bought?

Found another seller who sells G&G brand ink. Anyone ever use that brand?

I’ve used it in a Canon…it was OK…I think it’s of Chinese origin.
What isn’t these days ?
They also make “cleaning cartridges” which can be useful.

Sorry guys not giving a quick update. Wife has been ill and I’m dealing with that. But I have to say that I’m very happy with Image Specialists ink. Quality was excellent on my dvd prints. SO far I will be buying from them. But I will check out the CIS ink.

Hope your wife gets well soon.
Glad to hear of your success with Image Specialists ink.

Of all the inks I tried back in my R300 and R340 cartridge re-filling days(in printing heaven now w/ a RX680 and smooth working CIS), found G&G to be the next best thing to Image Specialists. Only real difference w/ IS ink was a glossier black giving print a little more depth and contrast.

Thanks for the info… Image Specialists sell cartridges or just the ink refill? I have been to their site, but do not see any prices, just a sample request and an order form with no prices on it. If they do sell cartridges, where can I get them?? Hope your wife gets well soon, mn07206565

Hey thanks. Here is where I bought it from.

Plus I had call them to ask a question. Very professional and helpful. Hope this helps. I will be buying another set next week for my other printer.

Good luck.

Excellent choice:clap:. Was just looking through my saved sellers to post a link to the very same seller. Think you’ll be happy w/ IS ink. One down side to re-fillables is the ink level reported by the ARC chip doesn’t actually match ink left in cartridge. I got sick of popping carts out to check for refilling and the whole refilling process and got brave enough to try a CISS. What a difference! Never go back. But the experience w/ refillables and trying different inks was a valuable one. Have fun:D.
