Encoding in Nero 6

I do have Nero 6 but it requires the plug in to make SVCDs. I also have Nerovision Express 2SE version 2.1.2.0 and again because it is the SE version it does not encode SVCDs but it will burn them to a CD if they are already encoded. Questions:

  1. Will the DVD plug in work for both the Nero 6 and the Nerovision Express 2SE making both capable of burning SVCDs?

  2. I have Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Encore. The problem is Adobe Encore will only make DVDs not SVCDs. But Adobe Premiere Pro will encode to SVCD. I therefore encoded my video to SVCD and burned it onto the CD with Nerovision Express 2SE. Problem is the play back was horrible. Voice and video were not in sync. Would the DVD plug from Nero work better than Adobe Premiere Pro’s encoding? I have made VCDs of the video but was not happy with the quality. That is why I what to try SVCD. My video are too small for DVD with is more expensive. I do have a DVD burner.

TMPGEnc Plus will probably solve all your issues and there’s a trial version available if you want to try it. I have no idea about Ahead’s DVD plug-in though and Premiere probably encodes MPEG-1 quite well but it may not be adequate for all purposes.

Thanks for the reply

As I mentioned have Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Encore.

Would it be better and solve the problem if I got the plug-in and did the encoding in Nerovision Express 2SE or TMPGEnc Plus instead of Adobe Premiere Pro?

As long as you have a compliant file I don’t see why it shouldn’t work.

Apparently Nerovision Express 2 is able to create MPEG-2 (SVCD compliant) files although the GUI is far too simplistic for my taste. Try again with Adobe Premiere Pro or give TMPGEnc Plus (trial) a spin.

I gave TMPGEnc Plus (trial) a try and I got audio with no video.

I had no problems making a CVD in NeoDVD but it did not have the capability of making SVCDs

The audio issue is common using TMPGEnc along with VBR streams and/or AC3 ones so do it manually and then mux.

You have lost me can you explain how I would do this?
