I like how they always use the maximum punishable by law when they use phrases like “face up to (x amount of years) in prison and …” I mean really, with the prisons already at maximum capacity, your going to lock someone up for operating a torrent site? Its so sickening that this really is Corporate America…

Why aren’t people hosting these sites outside the U.S.? If you’re going to be involved in this type of activity then common sense says that you host it somewhere the FBI, can’t touch you. Jokers

Hahahah! This is getting kinda weird. Go to the elite website and then right click and read the properties: It says shut down by the FBI and Ice. Maybe this is a hack. :d

First of all the site was DNS hacked. Second their servers are not based out of the USA, but out of Holland I believe.

Looks to me like they are in Scottdale Arizona. But, it does look like a hoax. A good one though!

“Shutting down illegal file swapping networks like Elite Torrents is an essential part of our fight to stop movie thieves from stealing copyrighted materials,” said the group’s president, Dan Glickman. Perhaps they should apply the same stringent prevention to movie studios that steal plotlines, scripts and stories for movies (intellectual copyrighted material) and the money out of cinemagoers’ pockets by releasing outright crap and serving it up as entertainment.

If you look closely at the VLC player in the videoclip on hxxp://www.ice.gov/graphics/index.htm you see that it is in fact playing the TRAILER of SWE3ROTS. So I guess it’s now illegal to make trailers available on the net. Hope they shut down evil piracy sites like starwars.com, which have several SWE3ROTS trailers online, ready for download… :d
