One of the requirements:

You will need a region free DVD-ROM drive. Region protected (RPC-2) DVD-ROMs will not work, sorry.

That’s a BIG drawback :frowning:

Of course it wont work if your DVD drive is region protected Stavros…DUH!!

hmm I remember Stavros casting in the 7th Guest, a graphic marvel released some years back, and of which I completed!! Now you wouldnt happen to be that Stavros would you? of course not, I am taking the piss :0__) lmao

If a region protected DVD doesn’t run, then what exactly does this “RegionKiller” kill?

Just as I said:
Olli is a excellent coder !
So, and you have to remember one thing:
The DVD Region Code is checked by Software and sometimes by Hardware as well.
So this prog can only kill the Software Detection, not the hardware detection.
The prob is that neary every newer DVD has got an Hardware Check
But the Pioneer 6x hasn´t !
And now I got a prog to knock out the Software Lock !

Doesnt DVD Genie do the same thing? If it does could ne 1 say if 1 is better?

N.B., ALL new DVD-drives have a hardware regiion lockout, at least if they’re made after an 2000. The Pioneer 6x doesn’t have a lockout because it’s old, the first 10x40 from Pioneer didn’t have a lockout either.
