I am looking for a program where I can take a DVD movie and edit audio as well as delete scenes (but not necessarily whole chapters). Just wondering what software would be recommended for someone who is new to video editing.
The Womble programs spring to mind for this type of thing. Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD (what a name!) is good for cutting sections out of dvd video or plain mpeg files. It can do this process with minimum of reencoding.
Another possibility would be the VideoReDo TV Suite. Don’t be fooled by its name, it is a good program for working with mpeg2 found in dvd video.
Both programs have free trials.
Will Womble work with mp4 video files as well?
I believe it will. I know it can export to mp4 files, for an Ipod for example.
Download the .pdf manual and take a look through the features.
