well now with the death of dvdd i will soon be looking for a program that was as easy to use as dvdd. does anybody have an ideas as to a good freeware program that is as easy as dvdd
Why not continue using Decrypter?
i will be 4sure it just im also looking for a program thats update as much as dvdd. u never know when dvdd will no longer work and i want to be ready
I tried this one last night… it seems to work pretty good. Best of all it’s free
cladDVD.NET v3.5.7 - dvd ripper, needed to decrypt and copy dvd files.
[Released: 7th June 2005]
DVD Shrink is no longer updated so there’s no point in using it, seeing as the last version of Decrypter is a lot more recent.
As for cladDVD: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=63339
dvdshrink has not failed me yet
just cause its not updated anymore doesnt mean its bad… some can even claim its good because it needs no updates.
I have been able to make backups of any and every movie thus far… I actually welcome a title that can offer a challenge
If updating wasn’t a problem then why would people be looking for alternatives to DVD Decrypter in the first place? regular updates are required to beat new protection methods such as ARccOS and RipGuard, there are already several releases that Decrypter cannot rip 100% correctly (and therefore neither can DVD Shrink) without using PSL files or editing the IFOs manually. Just because you haven’t encountered them doesn’t mean that they don’t exist.
You’re right however that DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink will suffice for the time being for the vast majority of titles, and there really doesn’t seem to be any better alternative at the moment (except maybe AnyDVD) but eventually something’s going to have to take the place of Decrypter, especially if RipGuard becomes widely implemented.
