I've got a Dell Latitude D800 laptop and I've added an external firewire dual layer DVD burner (Pioneer DVR-108). I'm also running WinXP SP2 (Also tested under Win2K)
The Dell is supplied with Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Basic (v.18.104.22.168 SP28)
Although this is only meant for writing CDs (The built in drive is a CD-RW) it does have the option to write DVDs.
However it doesn't seem to work very well with the DVDs
If I add a folder with a lot of subdirectories, Roxio won't write files to a DVD in subdirectories over about 3 or 4 folders deep (It's not very consistent and I'm using the UDF format). However it can write the same structure to a CD.
I've tested the same hardware setup with Nero Express 6 and that works fine.
So is there a limitation on what Easy CD Creator 5 Basic can do with DVDs?
My boss would prefer we use the built in software to save money and effort, personally I'd like to use Nero, especially as I can get it mega-cheap.
