Just ripped Coldplay X&Y thru EAC. The CD is brand new, but there were mulitple read errors…but when I check the “suspicious positions” everything sounds fine
What is going on? Why the errors??
Drive is ATAPI DVD DD 2X16X4X16
If possible, try ripping with another drive.
That CD has a nasty protection on it, lots of intentional mastering errors… :Z, take a look at this thread. It’s perfectly normal that you encountered errors during the rip, not using a Plextor Premium. However, if you are not able to hear artifacts, probably it means that the reader did a good job with audio error correction (interpolation).

I think I backed-up that disc.
I think I had to go analog via my home stereo to my sound card to record as *.wav files for at least 2 or 3 songs if not the entire disc. It had beaucoupe protections I couldn’t get past.
