DW1650 odd problem? paramount dvd's

this is an odd problem, wondering if anyone else has had it especially from australian pressed discs

here goes…

since i cleared out my entire hdd apart from windows + programs + couple of games i decided i would start backing up some of my retail dvd’s…

charmed season 1 - 6, 6 dvd’s per box set, 1 dvd per box reads at 4x max only when backing up but open qsuite & turn overspeed on & magically the ones i have tested read at a full 12x

aeon flux complete animated collection (3 dvd set) disc 1 reads at 4x (really 3.78x) no matter if overspeed is on/off same slow read speed

i have tested paramount movies, non paramount tv shows & non paramount movies & have yet to hit this problem

it seems to be effecting only paramount tv series dvd’s at least 1 per box (not every disc)

aeon flux & charmed season 6 i only purchased last week, season 5 a few weeks ago

i have not had much time to test with my 1640 yet but i think there may be something up with their tv dvd’s (bad pressings or other?) or anydvd may not be catching everything

they are pressed in australia by “technicolor”

below are shots of charmed season 6 disc #3 one of the affected discs when overspeed is off & when it is on

harlem nights another paramount dvd pressed by technicolor (movie) no problem os on/off

charmed season 2 disc 6 was another slow one but disc 5 takes the cake that got a number of crc errors near the end of the 2nd ep for that disc (take note of where cd-dvd speed is indicating the layer break as… 8191.63 GB  )

anyone else encountered this?

if y’all really want my com specs there on my sig, self built from own chosen parts, custom made nlite 1.0 rc7 xp pro sp2 slipstream with all the latest chipset drivers, audio & video, fully tweaked services, registry & performance to my personal pref, all xp patches up to date, system is stable & solid as a rock
hdd’s are sata & removing the nvidia drivers is not an option, sata drives depend on them & windows throws a fit about improper drivers when removed & windows default it also makes hdd perf poor (+ i have never had problems with their drivers at all, in my pc’s lifetime… it is mostly nforce2 based chipsets that may have such problem)

DW1650 bchc tdb’s rpc1
have also tried with reg bchc, bcfc & bcdc

1640 is not installed swapped out for 1650

can anyone confirm anywhere especially in au if this problem exists & is not just isolated
trying to figure out if its these pressed dvd’s, the drive, or if anydvd misses something although with it off non paramount discs play full speed in powerdvd just fine :S or something else
sucks having to wait 45mins for a dvd to rip & pack into a iso lol

thanks guys

harlem nights & charmed season 2 disc 5

:edit: forgot to mention, all dvd’s are stored in a wardrobe that is cool & room is climate controlled + a dehumidifier to keep the discs stored within specs
since even week old discs are affected also i doubt its to do with storage on my end
