jst to let you know yes I ave the latest firmware on this DVD burner!!

#2

You poor soul. Buying an OEM re-badged Lite-On burner. You will need to flash this drive to another firmware in order to make it like the retail Sony and then you will need to figure out which Lite-On model it actually is. IMHO OEM Sonys are the worst burners out there (the most problematic and horribly overpriced).

#3

ok. thank you very very much

what i have seen is this is a 1633s

so i should get the firmware from liteon?

and update the drive?

#4

If possible definitely go with the Lite-On firmware as there are quite a few more firmware updates for the Lite-On than what Sony has to offer. The 1633 isn’t supposed to be too bad of a drive once you update the firmware. Check out rpc1.org.

#5

gracias mi amigo

btw i can burn fine with Roxio however nero is the prog that have problems…

does Nero need a kick in the hind quarters?

#6

Well, you do have the latest version. BTW you can just pick up DVD Decrypter and have it automatically burn for you in ISO mode once DVD Shrink is finished. Just a thought if you want auto-burning. www.dvddecrypter.com

#7

thanks again my friend

#8

I hope it works. BTW you will need to manually select the “ISO and burn with DVD Decrypter” in the output option in DVD Shrink.
