Everytime I try to copy a DVD on a DVR-21D, I get a reading error at approximately 80%…but i try the same disc on another drive and it reads fine. Could it be just a bad drive?..
Welcome to the Forum.
Perhaps it would be beneficial to describe in detail exactly what type of “DVD†you are attempting to copy.
Is this “DVD†an original Commercial DVD Movie Title or is this “DVD†a DVD that you personally recorded to DVD Media? Any pertinent amplifying that you can provide with be beneficial.
Provide the Name and Version Number of the software program you are attempting to use and the complete full untruncated error narrative and error codes you are receiving.
its a movie not made from the States…
But I am using dvd decrypter to make an ISO…it gets stuck approximately at 87% and the error message I receive is:
Device: [5:0:0] Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-215L 1.18 (H:) (ATA)
Interpretation: Check Condition
CDB: 28 00 00 1C FD 30 00 00 01 00

Again, I tried this on another computer with a Samsung drive and it worked fine.
Thanks in advance
I have had this a lot of times on various drives, won’t read on 1 but will on another, I find using CloneCD helps aswell as, for me anyway it seems to be a bit more tolerant with read errors than other programs.
Hi. Have you tried to clean the disc???
Try a program like RipIt4Me or DvdFab HD Decrypter as described here, Posts#67 to #74, but please also read Post#78. RipIt4Me is no longer updated, but DvdFab is, so if you are going to use it, make sure you have the latest version.
Unfortunately DVD Decrypter has not been updated in many years. Your L-EC Uncorrectable Error read error could be caused by a sophisticated Copy Protection Scheme employed by the DVD Manufacture. Suggest using a modern up to date Copy Protection removal software program similar to SlySoft’s Any DVD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html).
Thanks guys…i will give those a try…but it still weird to me that one drive can read it and the other can’t…and yes the disc is clean…

Which one is “the other drive” and is it in the same machine installed?
Tried with AnyDVD yet?
I have not yet…still need to purchase it…probably next week…
thanks for keeping up with this…
