Hello, I just bout the Pioneer DVR-1910LS which I know is really a DVR-113K or something like that and rebadged from some ASUS product.
Here's my issue, my computer (Vista Home Premium 32 bit) recognizes the drive, it plays DVDs and CDs just fine, reads DVD Data discs as well as CD data discs and apparently will burn CDs (I dont have any to actually test, but the Nero software says I can do it) but does not recognize the drive as DVD writing compatible. Moreover, the Lightscribe software says there is no LightScribe drives found on the computer.
In Device Manager, the driver listed is for: LITE-ON COMBO SOHC4836K ATA Device which I checked around and doesnt seem to be related to anything concerning the ASUS original product or the rebadged DVR113K/1910LS product.
Now, I have upgraded the firmware, updated the Nero software that came with it (it did have updates to it) as well as the lightscribe software that came with it all to no avail.
If someone can please help how I can get it to recognize that the drive itself is a DVD writer and a LightScribe drive and if the drivers that are installed are supposed to be the ones installed or if somehow Vista screwed up recognizing the drive itself.
