DVR-115 's Reading Speed

The image shows the benchmark of my DVR-115L (crossflashed from DVR-115,MCSE read speed patched)

The result is obvious showing that the reading speed of it is LOCKED below 8x, but I do not find the same problem on LiteOn SHM-165P6S which displays CAV in Type using the same testing disk.

From Pioneer DVR-115D DVD Burner Review
http://www.cdfreaks.com/reviews/Pioneer-DVR-115D-DVD-Burner-Review/Reading-performance.html

It shows the reading mode of DVR-115D is CAV which is quite different from me.

Is the problem caused by P-CAV mode? I have patched my DVR-115L with MCSE to increase the reading speed, but it seems that it is useless, the same situation as before.

Are there any methods to solve this?

What media is this, and how does a scan in your LiteOn look?

Media:
Imation i-Pro DVD-R 16x
Manufactory ID : CMC MAG. AM3

LiteOn SHM-165P6S TRT for the same testing disk

Pioneer DVR-115L TRT (Second Test)

I closed all the unnecessary programs and set the priority of “Nero CD/DVD Speed” to “High”.
Both graphs are smoother this time.

Nero CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.15 adds it own problems to Transfer Rate Tests, so I suggest upgrading to 4.7.7.16 to see how much of the problem is due to the slightly buggy TRT in 4.7.7.15.

For one thing you are using crappy media, try using TY’s or Verbatim’s

@ pp3089,

In many instances CMC MAG AM3 Media has been known to be problematic Media.

Suggest obtaining known proven quality error free Media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, which constantly produces quality error free results.
