DVDshrink/Nero direct burn problem

I’m not sure if this is the right forum for this problem, if not please direct me to the correct one.
Over the last week, I have figured out to successfully rip a DVD-movie with DVDshrink and write it separately with Nero. What I am having trouble with is getting it to work all in one action, that is directly with DVDshrink linking into Nero. It will begin the burn process, but then error off. I have tried it with multiple media both + and - RW with the same result. Each time that it errors, I am able to load Nero (without changing anything) and burn the DVD successively. I have done a good bit of searching and have not been able to find anything related to this problem. I am reasonable sure its in the configuration of DVshrink or Nero but can’t figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Below is a short part of the Nero error log when this occurs. thanx
PS. This is not a one time occurrence, it has occurred on about 6-8 tries. I know in the log that it says that the drive is not ready, but it really is, erased and all.
DVDShrink V3.1.7.6
Nero 6.3.1.17
Burner -> I/OMagic IDVDRW8D (BTC 1008IM)
Media -> MCCA01, OPTODISCW002

Try usning an older build of DVD Shrink and see if it works

Same here with a NEC ND-2510A in a belkin USB2 case. Mine came up with a SCSI command error with all versions, but it would be OK with a x8 Datawrite Disc; all the Datawrite x4 V2 yellow (ritek) all failed but would write with other programs - not nero 6 (most recent version)

Moved the NEC to the computer case on ATAPI sec-slave and guess what. It writes DVD’s that it wouldn’t write via USB2 Belkin Case.

I also have a MagicSpin DVDRW drive (FW V0052 pre-installed) that I have in a Firewire/USB2.0 Combo enclosure and I use this via my laptop. The only way I can burn movies is by using DVD Shrink to save the movie on the hard drive and then burn the movie on a DVD+R or DVD+RW using Roxio (pre-installed for the built in DVD-ROM). I’m going to go and buy Nero Ultra V6 but I’m not sure if the direct burn will work. I also have DVDXCopy Express which does the first step reading off the external drive but does not recognise the drive when I insert the blank media in it.

BTW, people mention that using Firewire is better than using the USB 2.0 port but after recognising the drive once, my laptop lost the drive and no amount of reboots would get it back. I finally decided to continue using the USB 2.0 port.

Roger.

Try this - dont use a usb hub - go direct and it all works!
