10 Compression Levels with 5% increments!!!
Sound good, but I don’t want to be the test bunny. But the new feature sounds real good… indecision… damn it. Ok, maybe tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up, DVDShrink rules all.
Thanks Dav88, now also posted on our news site: http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/7315
Has somebody tested it yet cause I was wandering about the new compression algorithm, is the difference really noticable (especially on lower bitrates)
“DVD Shrink 2.1 uses a completely different compression algorithm which is not comparable to 2.0”
Unlike the release version, it’s very flaky.
The two movies I’ve tried have both failed: one after 98% of the job was done, and the other just refused to start at all.
However, from what I can see of the quality, it’s not too bad, and the more evenly stepped compression is very welcome.
Anyone know where to report beta problems?
Have you gone to dvdshrink.org and look for the author’s email?
Just compressed 3 DVDs, seems a bit faster. Got no problem here.
Update: Correction, it’s a bit slower, but for the multitude of compression lvls, it’s all good.
