Hello everyone.My cdrom went out and i heard a dvd can read all protections.Is that true cuase if it is im gonna get a dvd instead of a cdrom so that i dont have to use my cdrw to read and write the disk,Ill just use the dvd to read it.Here is where im planning on getting my dvd from if a dvd will read all protections http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=M&Category_Code=D1

If you’re planning on getting a DVD-ROM, get it from Newegg.com, cheaper and just as if not more reliable than monarch. Lite-On 166S is a good choice.

I don’t know where you got your info from, but DVD-ROM doesn’t defeat all copyright protection, nothing does.
