I have an Acer Aspire 4520 with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor. I'm a web designer and use my laptop constantly and I'm currently having an issue.
My CD/DVD ROM drive has worked since I got the laptop. Only as of recently, it will do everything except for play DVD movies. I have tried burned discs that have audio, those work, all CD's work, however when I put a DVD movie in there, (one that is not burned but purchased at a store) it does not even recognize that I put anything in there. The drive lights up like it wants to load the movie but never does. If I click on the disk drive in My Computer it tells me to insert a disk.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
The DVD ROM drive is an HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA device. When I go into the drive's properties it says that everything is working properly.
