do the setting on dvdfab have to be changed to be
compatible with windows 7
otherwise the burned disc will only play on the pc
and not in any of 4 dvd players

#2

Nope not at all but almost all seasoned DVDFab users configure DVDFab to a certain way that we like it. If this is happening to you then give the details to the problem and someone will be glad to help you out

[QUOTE=sammd70;2485362]do the setting on dvdfab have to be changed to be

I’m running Win7 and have no problem with any setting in DVDFab

May I ask if the blank media you are using are the +R if so the 4 standard DVD players you are referring to…do they support +R media ?

#4

thank you
settings are just as they are downloaded made no changes
dvdfab reads and burns the disc
the finished backup disc can only be played on the pc
none of my 4 dvd players will play it the panasonic dvd player says the disc is invalid
the other 3- philips, go video, and magnavox- start the disc about an hour into the movie
and will not move forward or backward
if i try to recopy the burned disc, dvdfab will not even recognize it
tried trial versions of other dvd copiers and they were fine
new computer, windows 7, and the latest firmware updated LG dvd burner
please help worked fine with xp made no changes when i had it
i have the paid dvd-dvd platinum

sammd70 you did not answers StormJumpers question of what type of disc are you using plus R or minus R , sometimes that does make a difference. And are they single layer or dual layer?

What type of disc does your players play?

#6

Also want to ask a question here in addition to above,
is the firmware current on the stand alone players???
and what is the burn engine that you are using???

#7

media is -R always has been for 4 years always worked
burned with nero 8 have always used nero and dvdfab vso
never had a problem with xp dvd players play everything else but
windows 7 burned discs

Win 7 does have some issues with nero also I believe that the VSO burn engine has had some problems off and on through the different versions.

A lot of us has switched over to the Imgburn engine and have never looked back , it is a far better burn engine with more compatibility with different media.
It is also free.
If you would like to download and install Imgburn you may find that you will like it better also.

If you look in StormJumpers signature you will find some excellent directions on setting up Imgburn with DVDFab.
