DVDFab watermark in picture

I’m asking this for a friend. She asked me how to convert her movies to play on her iPad. I recommended DVDFab. I don’t have an iPad, don’t do converting to mobile, myself.

At the top left of the converted movie there is a large watermarked ‘DVDFab’.

She is taking advantage of the 30 day trial to see if she likes the results, but will likely be buying the All-in-One version later.

Does the watermark go away after she has paid and registered?

Also, there seems to be two different ways to convert to the iPad format. One is the DVD Ripper, the other is Video Convert. Is there a significant difference - and which is better?

I prefer other converters to either one of DVDFabs.
The watermark is supposed to go away with the paid version.
There was a thread a while back & I need to test the watermark
with an older computer that doesn’t have the paid version.
I haven’t checked but I think the trial is now expired.
I tested on regular DVD to DVD rips & didn’t get a watermark.
After trial only DVD Ripper will work but I will try a test with it.
It will probably be next weekend before I get to it.

Video Converter is to change another format to something else like a avi to mkv so she need the DVD Ripper.

The watermark is only on the trial for all products except DVD Copy and will be removed once paid for like cholla mentioned

Can you recommend any?

There are plenty of other good converters but unfortunately they can’t be discussed in the DVDFab forum.

I’ll move the thread to the main Movie Copy Software forum for you though and free up the discussion.

If you read this thread & check the links in it there are several converters suggested.

I don’t have an Ipad so I can’t say how good a job these converters do for it.
I suspect some will be better than others. It’s like any AV format you work with it takes some trial & error to find what works best.

Thanks, Wombler. Went there and learned what I needed to know.

And thanks Cholla for your helpful input.

Is this a great forum, or what?

I did a couple of tests with DVD Ripper .
DVD Ripper won’t convert just any file or files .
You have to have a DVD complaint folder to select.
(At least like I do & rip the DVD to the harddrive first) .

From that folder I used DVD Ripper with the default IPad settings.
I did this first on my old IBM with XP pro .It only has the trial version .
It should have expired but for some reason it had a new date for June 7,2012.
I did the conversion anyway . It had the DVDFab.com watermark & bad artifacting.

I then used my newer computer which has DVDFab Platinum .
DVD Ripper Default IPad settings .
This video didn’t have the watermark .
It did have bad artifacting though .
Worse on the newer one.
So one more time proving that DVDFab doesn’t convert well.

I wanted to answer this too:

The watermark will be on any video that already has it. It is not removed by purchasing DVDFab Ripper or converter.
Any videos converted after purchase shouldn’t have a watermark.
