A couple of comments:
- 99.9% of installation problems are the result of people not reading the install procedure and not doing the install procedure correctly. Then, without correcting the errors from the incorrect install, people then try to install again, and wonder why it's still not working.
That's the gist of most of that type of thread here.

If you don't mind the wait for snail-mail or or some courier's 'overnite' service (depending on what you paid for), you'll find a CD mis-install is no better than a download mis-install, and the same steps to correct either will be required.
The download, however, you'll have much sooner.
Done properly, there are no problems loading and running and using the program.
