DVDFab Platinum Sound Not Syncing

I’m using DVDFab Platinum version and have been very pleased with this program over the several months I’ve used it.

However, I recently backed up a music DVD for my ipod and then played it on my PC via Quick Time version 7.5 (861) the music and the video were out of sync.

I am using a pentium 4 with 4 gig ram and Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX with current drivers and all current updates to windows XP with 750gb hard with 650gb remaining.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well I will tag along with this thread if thats ok…

I am trying out DVDFab and have been pleased so far.

After doing about 6 of my DVDs or so (had to delete 4 since I had the subtitles checked on for some reason) with no issue, I now have a sound sync issue as well. about .5 seconds behind, everything else is fine.

DVD:Live Free or Die Hard - Wide Screen
main movie only, whole thing.
DVD to Moble, Generic Mp4 H264 aac - (going to an Iphone)

  • High quality 2 pass
  • fixed file size 450mb (=414 kbps)
  • 480x198 frame resolution (Iphone screen 480 x 320 @ 160ppi)
  • Auto crop
  • volume 125%
  • Audio Bitrate 64kbps

Windows XP5.1 (Build 2600) Service Pack 3
Intel® Core™2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz (OC’d to 3.0)
Realtek HD Audio output
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 640mb
4gb ram (just under 3 usable)
Internal 7200rpm Sata 500gb drive practically empty
EVGA Motherboard 122-CK-NF68

Gonna go read the manual now  make sure I am not being stupid somewhere.

[Edit in after light reading] hmm, stupid me, there is an iphone choice under Ipod… will retry Rip and see if this helps at all…

well, read the manual, tried it with the same basic settings as above except used Ipod/Iphone and same issue… watched it a bit more and noticed a few things.

-I set it for 450MB and it was actually about 575mb when done.
-Sound sync is off (as stated above)
-There is a pretty F’d up section about 10 mins in (scene where McClain is getting the hacker kid from his apartment), it stutters, skips backwards then stutters more and finally gets past it.

The DVD is clean and plays fine in my DVD player.

Hello Again,

I’m am following up on my original post.

I did a clean uninstall and reinstall of DVDFab and also checked that my DMA had not reset to the PIO as someone on this site had suggested.

Same results!

I backed up the “STYX - Caught In The Act” concert DVD for ipod use 640 x 480 resolution @ just under 30 fps and am noticing the sound is, as the prior threader mentioned, a half a second off while viewed on Quick Time player on my pc.

Anybody got a solution?
