DVDFab Platinum reporting the wrong size?

vbimport

#1

I’ve only run into this recently but I have been making a lot of coasters on my machine. The first time I tried to burn the log (shown below) looks like everything went ok but neither my computer nor DVD player will play it. I used VSO inspector and it showed a blank media. I did notice at the end of the log it showed “Burning layer not ready to write” if that means anything.

So I then proceed to try it again. I’m trying to back up Flushed away R1 and when I look at the burn log is says the files are too big for that media.

Anyone have any suggestions?

#2

Select DVD5 in the disk size drop down box.

#3

It was…double checked that.

#4

What mode are you using to make this backup? What did the “Quality” readout say? The burning engine is actually what is reporting the large size. Check and see if DVD5 size is set correctly in Common Settings–>Write. It defaults to 4300MB; mine is set for 4464 using the custom option. Look at the files with windows and see if the size being reported is actually correct.

#5

I remember quality was around 64%, most of the other stuff are set to the app defaults but I will check when I get home

Great. Might also try writing to a HDD folder and see what files/sizes turn up.
