DVDFAB not burning

vbimport

#1

Just upgraded to the latest version of DVDFab. I’ve had this issue since version 5.0. I put in a DVD, it reads it, spits it out, and prompts me for a blank DVD. I put in a blank DVD and push it back into the pc. Now, either two things happen.

  1. Nothing…the time elapse ticks away…but no writing
  2. It spits out the blank and tells me that the burn failed

Note to the reader.
No loose wires in the PC
Brand new PC
No other processes running
PLEASE don’t tell me that my DVDs are of poor quality. I’ve used 250 of the same brand and no issues. It all started with the latest version of DVDFAB.

Please help!

Your drive is in the PIO mode; try resetting this first with the button in DVDFab Common Settings->General. This causes all sorts of communication problems between the drive and the burn engine in addition to slow read and write speeds. If the DVDFab button doesn’t fix it, find any post by my good friend Maineman; he has links in his sig that will help. The log also indicates some sort of problem with the IDE bus or controller. Check one more time for loose power cables or power supply problems.

Well let’s start with geting you back into DMA and out of PIO mode. In common settings for dvdfab go general and at the bottom click reset DMA.

#4

I guess I was typing slow today

#5

OK, I’ll try that. My question is WHY does it keep going into PIO mode. I’ve reset this multiply times. Is there a perm fix for Vista? Please note that I’ve only got 1 drive in which vista is installed on.

#6

Well, tried that. Did a little more research on my PC and DMA mode. Here’s the deal. My drives are SATA…in the BIOS, it is set to RAID. I tried setting the RAID back to IDE and my computer crashed. So…I’m in RAID mode w/ SATA. Any Help???

I not know much about computers but you can post this question in the hardware part of the forum or the burner part of the forum to get more help for that
