DVDFab Double Pass, Worth the Time?

To whom it may concern,
I recently bought a copy of DVDFab Platinum and love the software. I just
received a message that an upgrade is available to the product and I was
wondering what has changed with the new release and whether it makes sense to upgrade. Also, when I copy my store bought DVD’s to be loaded onto my Ipod Video I always select the higher quality double pass. Is there a significant
difference between one pass or two? It takes a lot longer and if there is no
noticable difference I should probably just do one pass.

It’s always good to update AFAIK! I always do even if previous is working good…
If there is no noticeable diff. with 2-pass then do one…
as another fellow member has in his sig. “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”…
BTW welcome and don’t be so formal, we’re all buddies, and here to help and learn of course…

Yup, agree with t0nee1, I always update. I’ve had platinum for at least 2 1/2 years and it’s been a rare glitch that has caused me any trouble. If it’s minor, I’ll just wait for the beta fix. I think in all my time with platinum, I’ve only reverted twice.

Personally, the 2-pass option is a waste of time for me…and I want to be clear, I speak only for myself. I recall one user who swears by the 2-pass, but he is using Apple TV and a 50"+ screen.
I see no difference on my Ipod screen or on a patch cord to a 32" flat screen, but this is a simple MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 conversion with platinum to Ipod.

Hope this helps.
