I also use VSO, but you won’t find a better burn engine than Img.
VSO is the default burn engine and is better integrated with Fab than either nero or Img. Some users have a problem with VSO and use Img. For eg., my good friend signals uses VSO for SL, but uses Img for DL (issue with VSO here).
And then some users simply prefer Img.

Take Jimbo’s advice and try them both on for size…

I use it for both Tom SL and DL and have NEVER had a problem myself, Sure be glad when you get moved into the man cave and get your movie theater all set up so all us old farts can go watch movies and drink beer

for me ImgBurn has a better log and saves a burn graph. [but DVDInfoPro must be installed]. i like to look at the graphs after every burn and often also do a Transfer rate test and Quality scan. if you like the VSO patin couffin driver, you can use it with ImgBurn.

[even if you dont use ImgBurn with dvdfab, its just a great program with a lot more features than just writing ISO files. i use for almost everything, including data dvd and music cd too.]

Agreed Jimbo, I haven’t had a problem with VSO since the layer break issue way back with Platinum 2.xxx.

And Jimbo, consider this an “invite” to the "Old Farts Beer and Movie Convention"
You can get in…but you can’t get out…unless you’re carried out…

guest of honor…ur-a…I have seen what happens to the guest of honors at some conventions not always a good sight , if you don’t mind would rather be one of the bouncers

I was using VSO, but I got a burner than comes with NERO. How I burn it with NERO.

Personnally, using NERO, always gives me a feeling that burning results are better than the others. And it is extremely fast.

Of course, this is my preferance only. The only thing when burning NERO with DVDFAB is that the NERO interface is a “DOS” monochrome look, unlike the others.

Blutach… I ain’t a techie…and personally, I find Imgburn rather “complicated”. Too much functions that I do need to use.

On the other hand, having the options (Imgburn, Nero & VSO) does give DVDFAB an edge.

P/S :- I am a “old-Monster”. And find Imgburn learning curve too high. I want some thing that I can JUST BURN and GO.

Hi Sea,

I can relate to being an ‘OLD’ dog Image burn is very easy to use. I changed just one option and have been using it ever since.
