I’m having several problems with the latest version of DVD Fab. I’ve got it on my personal PC, and it works great for everything. I have it here on my work PC, and now, and for the last few versions of DVD Fab, it won’t burn to DL discs. Here is the burn log, and the latest message I got just today when trying to merge a couple of movies and burn them to a DVD+R DL disc.

So far, this PC and my lap top will not burn to DL media, and both have received the “Failed To Burn” message, with the latest one being on this PC.

I’ve tried a clean uninstall a few times for both, as outlined in the clean uninstall thread in this section of the forums, and have yet to see anything different.

agreed

verbatim DL is the only highly recommended DL media by cdfreaks.

might not help much but there is firmware update available for your drive.

good luck

When I clicked the link and tried to run the update, it said that it wasn’t compatible with the burner on this PC. I noticed with the error “vso_hwe.dll” is listed? If I read correctly, that’s the VSO CD/DVD burning engine?
When I clicked the link and tried to run the update, it said that it wasn’t compatible with the burner on this PC.
Yep. The firmware currently on the drive appears to be the HP specific firmware, version HP16. The LiteOn flasher will not flash a drive with OEM firmware. There’s an alternate way around it, but it may not be worth the trouble. The LiteOn 6S series doesn’t play nice with Ritek DL media.

And I think your drive is supposed to be running in Ultra DMA mode 4, not Ultra DMA mode 2. You might want to check and see if you can resolve that issue: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f61/troubleshooting-enabling-checking-dma-windows-vista-xp-2000-me-9x-101616/

Yes, that does look like an error message regarding the VSO burning engine. I’ll let the others give you suggestions on that.

Select ImgBurn as the burn engine in common settings  less problematic ya know
