DVDfab 5.2.2.2. Error Code 122

Registered user. I was backing up Hopscotch, a DVD that I had previously backed up successfully using a previous version, but had scratched the other day. It was a full disc copy mode, had finished the rip to HDD, and had started the write to a Verbatim 2.4 +R/DL Singapore when it crapped out, ruining a blank DVD, I guess. Log says:

10:33:41: Analyzing of DVD started
10:33:41: Analyzing of DVD completed successfully
10:33:41: Copy process started
10:48:16: Copy process completed successfully
10:48:16: Burn DVD folder (D:\RIPS\Temp\FullDisc\HOPSCOTCH) started
10:51:45: Task_2 failed! Error=122

I had just updated with 5.2.2.2 and was using that. The last block of entries in the vso.log are:

Any ideas? A bug perhaps? BTW, I am finding that ever since the first version of series 5 software, the quality of the releases (show-stopping bugs) is going up. Perhaps adding new features should be put in abeyance until bugs are eliminated?

I agree 100 percent to stop adding things till all is working. Would be better yet to bust out the Gold and Platinum to each it’s own program. Let the Gold users have a good DVD burning program.

Thanks

#4

This issue isn’t Gold or Platinum, they have the same VSO burning engine and this engine is being updated to fix issues with different burners.

As far as I know, it is just the Mobile Option that is going through most of the changes.

The only thing changing with the Ripping Engine is because of new protection in Dark Knight and others.

So you either have a program that does not work with the latest Copy Protection, does not work with certain burners and has stabilty problems in converting to Mobile formats.

OR

You upgrade.

Merry Christmas

OK, didn’t mean to start a flame war, but here’s the latest.

I rebooted, selected Full Disdk Copy again, pointed it to the image that had been successfully ripped to the HDD, put in a new Verbatim, and it burned to DVD d/l OK. So either it was a bad DVD (it would be the first Verb Singapore I ever had as a coaster), or something wasn’t initialized correctly after I upgraded and restarted the program w/o rebooting.

I’ve just looked at a few minutes of the copy on my computer and it looks OK so, unless I find a problem when I look at it on my DVR player, let’s consider this closed, OK?

Thanks, folks.

This may or may not be part of the problem, but according to the log you are attempting to burn a DL at 8X that is only rated at 6X max by the manufacturer (and probably should not be used that fast). Get the MKM-003s (8X) if you want to burn DLs at higher speeds.[quote=burpnrun;2182585]Sorry. The log above was beore I had closed the program upon failure. This is afterwards:

Yeah, I saw that too, which is strange because it’s always on “Auto” select wrt the write speed. I certainly made no changes when reburning the blank (the second time, after rebooting), so the program selected a write speed incompatible with the 2.4 - 6 speed of the blank. Maybe it’s a bug, maybe not.

Anyway, the second try produced an acceptable copy, so doesn’t matter now. Problem recorded for posterity only.
