Dvd2svcd and 23.9f

Iv’e got a avi file which is 23.976 FPS and iv’e used Dvd2svcd to convert to dvd, ive tried it twice once ticking NTSC to pal box and once again without ticking it, I know ntsc in 29.fps but I was just trying anything, it came out ok but I notice clearly that it was still jerky and also freezed about every 8 sec or so. This is the frist time i’m using dvd2svcd as I heard this is the best tool to use for avi to make them look smooth as the original. I’ve been reading from a guide which seems to be referring to avi’s with 29. fps rather than 23.fps so would this be a factor if I wanted pal dvd and how could I resolve it plz?

First, converting a small AVI to DVD is a waste of time. Garbage in = garbage out. 700 MB AVI --> 4.5 GB DVD?? What do you expect??
Freezing, dunno, maybe is the conversion process (try with doing a mpeg-1 - VCD file from that AVI, do the same prblems persist?), maybe it’s the input file which is corrupt.
Avoid talking about fps, it’s useless.

This is what the log says in DVD2SVCD

WARNING! You seem to be using “Norton Unerase Protection” and
you want to delete the temporary files created by dvd2svcd.
This can cause DVD2SVCD problems. Even though DVD2SVCD deletes
the temporary files, Norton doesn’t, therefore DVD2SVCD
might run into diskspace problems. I suggest that you stop the
“Norton Unerase Protection” Service.
