I don't know what cuntry u r in so I can only tell u what is in England.
U can go to Maplin Electronics and they have a copy box with all cables and PSU for £50. I found this not to work with all types of Macrovision and u get a bit of red bleed but is not to bad.
A company called Composite also have a box of tricks and costs about £140 ex. VAT and without postage. This has protection bypass, RGB colour controls sharpness and so on. This is a proper broadcast quality supplier.
You can also buy a VCR that has an AGC switch on it so you can copy ANY macrovision protected tapes. The copied tapes will also carry the protection. This can be a good thing if your going to sell on as they can't make copies of your copies. It would be a good idea if you can get a processing unit that will deal with boosting and colour correction. These VCR's will cost between £300 - £800.
AGC = Auto Gain Control. I take it u know how macrovision works so I won't go into it now.
