One step at a time. You have commercial DVD’s that you want to backup? You are using Shrink to rip the DVD’s and Nero to burn?
The only copy protection that Shrink can decrypt is CSS, if the movies you are having problems with are fairly new it might be an encryption problem. In Shrink, do you choose to analyze before you rip? You can try a different decrypter like DVDFab which as a 30 free trial, it is an all-in-one program (rip, compress, burn) it includes the free HD Decrypter which will work after the trial expires. You can also try DVD Smith, http://www.dvdsmith.com/, to rip the movie to your hard drive and then use Shrink to compress and Nero to burn.
I’m doing as you say, using Shrink to rip and Nero to burn which is the only option that I get to burn the dvd with, I also have roxio installed, but it doesn’t come up as an option.
The dvd I ripped is a documentary which is about 45 minutes long and has been on dvd for about 8 years. My main concern is the quality of the final dvd so I applied no compression which I believe defeats the purpose of analizing as there’s enough space on the disc (that’s what it said when I hit the analize option anyway)
