[qanda]This thread is about the LG GSA-H31N. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]A while ago I bought an acer-pc. A while later I decided I wanted to burn a dvd dl, so I bought som Verbatim dvd-r dl's, but my system didn't recognize them.
I tought the "minus"-sign might be the problem, so I bought some dvd+r dl's (from memorex, they didn't have verbatim dvd+r dl's). But very strangely, my pc said it only had 4.25 GB of free space... so it didn't recognize the second layer.
So I tought I needed to update the firmware. After some research I found out I had a GSA-H31N (an LG, apparently) and on the internet I read that the h30n was much better firmware. So I cross-flashed it and now I have a GSA-H30N (F/W 1.03).
But still the same problem with the dvd.
Maybe it didn't support dl's? So I checked that with imgburn. Apparently it should even accept the dvd-r dl's!
Maybe good to know: on the front of the dvd-tray it has the "rw"-logo with "DVD+R DL" written beneath it.
I have the same problem in vista home premium 32-bit (and many 3rd party apps) and ubuntu 8.10 64-bit.
So it doesn't recognize a dvd-r dl and it only recognizes one layer of the dvd+r dl. Can anyone help me with this?
