I was in to Future Shop today and purchased a package of 50 Memorex DVD +R for $24.99.

The media code is RITEK-R02-001.

Riteks at $0.50 Canadian. What an awesome deal

Has anyone bought the Maxells from Future Shop? I was wondering what the media code was…

They also have BenQ DVD-R and +R 50 packs for $25 as well… Don’t know the manufacturer code though.

Avoid the Kodak -R 4x though… $34 for 50, $4 for 5, and they’re crappy “VDSPMSAB 01”

Benq DVD+r is made by Daxon. NOt sure about the - media.

I read somewhere, that the dvd-r are SONY04D1.

BenQ are indeed SONY04D1…50 for $25. Of course I don’t know if that’s good or bad. :confused:

Also picked up some Maxell… 10 for $15. Wasn’t sure about them, but they come up as TYG01. These should be good, eh? :iagree:

When I got there, all the memorex DVD+R 50 pack had been sold out and I got a DVD-R 50 pack instead, 8X for the same price. The media code is CMC MAG. AE1, what do you guys think of this then??

Excellent, some of the best media there is.

Depends on your burner. The NEC drives like / love them, others might not.

Average media, one of the better el cheapo media, especially if you have a NEC drive.

Bought a pack of the +R, they show up as Ritek R02

In a Liteon 812S flashed with 832S VS0A, not the best media, but also far from the worst.

they are good enough for me…i usually test with a benq800 firmware then try a 822 firmware

first burn at 8x produced a bad disc…it worked but skipped alot in the dvdplayer

burn at 8x again and it was fine…

then upgraded to benq822 and burn at 8x, then 4x

i think i’ll just burn at 4x, its fine like that and i dont mind waiting another 6mins

i bought them at staff price so i saved $5 off the retail

PI 741 = 8X on Benq800
PI 11 = 8X on Benq800 (this was wierd how it was good disc)
PI 28 = 8X on Benq822
PI 15 = 4X on Benq822

The 50pack Memorex dvd+r media is RITEK R02, the 25pack is RICOH JPNR01.
