I replaced my DVD ROM with a Sony DVD/RW The computer wouldn't recognize it Un less I went to Device Manager then to IDE ATA/ATAPI CONTROLLERS THEN I WENT TO SECONDARY IDE CONTROLLERS AND DID A RIGHT CLICK THEN TO PROPERTIES IT BRINGS UP A SCREEN AND I CLICK ON ADVANCED SETTINGSI HAVE TO LEAVE DEVICE 1 AND DEVICE 0 AT PIO TO GET THE COMPUTER TO RECOGNIZE IT AS A DVD/RW DRIVE IF I SWITCH IT TO DMA IT ONLY RECOGNIZES IT AS A CD DRIVE. IT WILL COPY DVD'S BUT IT TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF TO DO IT. ANYBODY KNOW WHAT'S UP
If your are talking about burners in XP, in My Computer, under 'Type' they are always listed as CD Drives.
IT WILL COPY DVD'S BUT IT TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF TO DO IT
That's very vague. Do you mean rip, rip and shrink, plus burn... what?
Dude, STOP shouting! :-[
