DVD/RW LG GSA-4166B not working. PLEASE HELP!

My burner is 12 months old. Till 1 months ago everything work as it should. Drive started to not recognize speed of DVD-R 1-16x (Verbatim, Smart Buy) or DVD+R 1-16x (Verbatim, Smart Buy). When I put blank dvd in it, it takes 1min till he stop blinking green led or stop read blank disc. Than in Nero 6.6.0.13 or Nero 7 shows that posible burn speed is only at 4x (it should be 2x, 8x 12x or 16x). If drive somehow recognize dvd and it speed, and I give him to write DVD-ISO, Mode1, ISO 9660 + Joliet, it starts writing the start of dvd for about 6-10 min, than start writing data. At 20-30% it shows error.
I send the unit back to service, they tested and they say that works fine. I tryed - nothing. I bought new 40 pin cable, reformated discs and reinstall Windows XP and install only antivirus and Nero 7 Ultra. THE SAME STORY AGAIN! In device manager I can see that there is no device with problem. Everithing in the system looks allright. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Hello joe kov and welcome to the forum.

First, try using an 80 wire cable instead of a 40 wire cable. The 4166B is actually a UDMA66 device and so would work better with an 80 wire cable.

Next, try disconnecting that Sony CDRW drive and leave the 4166B connected as the sole device on the secondary IDE channel. Some drives don’t work properly together.

Also, you can try uninstalling inCD.

If those suggestions don’t work, then I’m out of ideas :frowning:
