Dvd-rom Won't Read Dvd-r!

I have a Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1612 that reads normal DVD’S and everything else fine but i have a burned DVD-R someone made for me and i cannot open it. When i put the disk in and click on the drive i get the following message : Windows cannot ready the disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows. Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate them.

                                                                  Joe

If it’s a movie that he burned you then maybe you could try it in a DVD player to see if it works

Welcome to CD Freaks.

It could be that your friend didn’t finalise the disk.

my g/f played it at her house on her computer on a dvd-rw and it worked fine for her i tried playing it on my dvd player in the living room and all i got was one movie but i know there are more on there

Maybe a bad disc or the DVD player is incompatible with it

I believe it depends on the used firmware.
