DVD ripping on linux?

Is there anything good for backing up DVD movies in linux? I doubt AnyDVD would work in Wine, but I haven’t tried it. I always liked Decryptor+AnyDVD.

p.s. Is there some way to stop these rippers from blue-screening XP while reading a scratched disc? Goddamn that’s annoying. Well, I can’t be sure it was due to scratches, but it seemed to make sense at the time. I backed up other discs the same day without issues. Then Dead Presidents blue screens me.

Which flavor of linux are you using?

DVDFab, DVD Decrypter, DVDShrink, all work with Wine. Never used AnyDvd so I don’t know if it works. Why don’t you just try it.

Ubuntu

I use all of the above with Ubuntu along with Imgburn. I’ve only used the free version of DVDFab, but I’ve read posts from people with the paid versions having problems registering the product under linux.

AnyDVD won’t work under wine.
That being said, I run movies through DVDFab HD Decrypter and/or DVDShrink, then I convert them to xvid via Acidrip and stream them through my media server to my tv. Works flawlessly.
