I have a problem with my DVD-ram Matshita UJ 830s.
It will read CDs and original DVDs but when i try to open DVD that is not
original, DVD-ram doesn’t recognise it. Since i have few dvds with some divx’s,
and it won’t read it either, i would like some help.
HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Do you have software on your pc which allows you to play divx files? If not, you need to download that software.

Yes i have Klite codec pack and four diferent players.
I can wach divx on my comp as long as they are on CD-s or on the hard drive.
When i put dvd with divx or burned dvd in drive, it doesn’t vant to start, even
recognise it as dvd. It look like nothing is inside. Someone told me few days ago
that it may have something to do with DRM (digital rights management).
The laptop is made for Japan, so that could be part of the problem.

Both nope.
Use nero cd dvd speed, insert a RETAIL pressed dvd and try performing some tests eg TRT scan.
What media, brand and mediacode does the “DVD disc with divx” have?
In which drive were it burnt?

Thank’s Chef! I will try to do what you sugested and then i’ll post
again if that won’t work.

#6

Oh yeah, the dvd media is Traxdata and Princo.

#7

For the media, Princo is a waste. :frowning:

#8

I tried everything you said, but i still can’t get anything from RETAILED dvd. It just won’t recognise it . Just like the dvd-ram is empty.

#9

Then maybe it needs a proper cleaning.

#10

It is clean. I just tryed five diferent original dvd-s, and they all worked just fine. But when i tryed to check retail dvd,
Nero drive speed gave me notification:
“Drive G: is locked by unknown application”.
Whatever that app. may be!
I must say i’m really pissed off with this laptop and i’m seriously
thinking about selling it and buying something else. Something like Gericom wich i had before and it never let me down.:a

Open up taskmanager and check which apps are running…

#12

There are many tasks running, and i don’t know wich of them
is maybe related to dvd.

#13

What about firmware?
Someone told me that may be a problem.
If that is a problem, what should i do?
