DVD-Ranger has updated its CinDe utility to make it easier to use. The tool can now detect whether a file contains Cinavia protected video by using the right click context menu in Explorer. Also the new version of CinDe is free and available for everyone to download.

Hm… I have somewhat mixed feelings about shell integration. On one hand, it should make it easier to load files into the program. On the other hand, lots of shell extensions can make Explorer slow and/or unstable, especially if they are poorly written (which I’m not caying CinDe is, I’ve just got too many bad experiences with problematic shell extensions).

Anyway, releasing the program free of charge is always welcome. I’d probably download it right now if I were still running Windows, especially if I watched a lot of movies from BRD and/or P2P downloads.
