Videohelp media database lists their lower speed media as Prodisc.
I would have to guess PRODISCR03 for the 8X DVD+R and PRODISCF01 for the 8X DVD-R.

Wesociety, thanks a lot for your prompt answer. Any idea if they will burn and if it’ll be reliably at 8x on NEC 3500 with 2.F8 FW?

Remember it was just a guess. :stuck_out_tongue:
PRODISCR03 seems to burn excellent on alot of burners (including the 3500).
8X DVD-R Prodisc can be PRODISCS04, PRODISCF01 or FUJIFILM03… It’s quite a lottery.
Recent reports indicate that PRODISCF01 media does not have the best quality…

I found an article here that DVD-R Media eProformance 4.7Gb 8x is ProdiscS04. As I see 2.F8 have several strategies for this mediacode. Some is limited only 4x and other are 8x. Is there a possibility to figure out if it’ll be writen on 8x or 4x only before I’ll buy?

BTW, looks like NEC 3500 don’t have write strategies for ProDiscR0* mediacodes… :frowning:

All PRODISCS04 will burn at 8X with 2.F8 firmware.

The 3500 DEFINITELY has write strategies for PRODISCR0* media.
Look in the DVD+R strategy section
